At the end of 2023, one of Spain’s leading food retail companies made a strategic shift in the management of its technological infrastructure. With hundreds of points of sale and a complex operation, they needed to go beyond traditional monitoring and gain real visibility into everything happening across their IT ecosystem.
With this goal in mind, they launched an advanced observability project that now enables them to collect, centralize, and analyze over 40,000 active metrics related to their systems, processes, and operations. An intelligent alerting system — with more than 4,600 active triggers — ensures fast and effective responses to any incidents.
A More Visible, More Efficient Infrastructure
The project included the automation of discovery and management of their IT inventory, as well as continuous monitoring of more than 80 servers and 120 critical applications. This new real-time observability capability allows the company to detect abnormal behavior, anticipate issues, and maintain high performance across the entire infrastructure.

To optimize their ecommerce platform, synthetic probes were implemented to simulate user behavior on the website. These simulations help identify potential failures before they impact the shopping experience, ensuring smooth, secure, and uninterrupted navigation.
Data That Drives Decision-Making
Thanks to this layer of visibility, technical teams can respond faster and more accurately, while business areas have access to valuable insights that support strategic decision-making. The result: an infrastructure more aligned with the real needs of operations.
A Benchmark Model for the Industry
This project demonstrates that technological innovation isn’t always visible — but it is always noticeable. And in a demanding sector like food retail, having a comprehensive, real-time view of everything happening is essential to ensure efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
At Datadope, we are proud to have supported this transformation, providing our IOMETRICS® Observability, IOMETRICS® Synthetix solutions, and our specialized consulting and support services.
