Grupo Uvesco has established itself as one of the undisputed leaders in the retail sector through its BM and Super Amara supermarket chains, standing out for its track record of sustained growth, specialisation in fresh produce and a strong commitment to quality employment.
In this context of exponential growth and intense competition, technology has become a critical asset. Under the leadership of Eneko Kanpandegi, Deputy IT Director and CISO, the technical team is driving the Group’s digital transformation, focusing on system resilience and the protection of digital assets in an increasingly complex global cyber threat landscape. For Uvesco, innovation is not merely an operational objective, but an essential tool for balancing security with efficiency and ensuring that customer service maintains the standards of excellence that define the Group.
Despite its strong track record, the technical team faced significant challenges with its previous monitoring infrastructure. They had a partial and limited view, based solely on metrics, which made it difficult to gain a clear understanding of what was actually happening across their systems. This situation forced teams to operate reactively and switch between multiple tools to identify the root cause of incidents, consuming valuable time and resulting in prolonged service downtime.
To overcome these limitations, Grupo Uvesco chose to implement IOMETRICS® Observability, a solution that has enabled unified, real-time monitoring of its key systems and applications. The transition to this new platform was completed with no impact on business operations and full compatibility from day one. By adopting the Platform as a Service (PaaS) model provided by Datadope, Uvesco has successfully outsourced the end-to-end management of the platform (including updates and security), allowing its internal team to focus exclusively on its core business.

The results of this collaboration have been immediate and measurable.
- The ability to correlate alerts and centralise logs and metrics in a single dashboard has transformed incident management.
- The most significant indicator is the reduction in Downtime, with incidents now resolved in under 10 minutes, compared with the previous 2 to 3 hours.
- Furthermore, Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) has shifted from a reactive approach to virtually immediate detection, resulting in improved operational continuity. This ensures service availability of over 99.9%.
